After seven months, the trail has suddenly gone cold in the case of Stefon Hagans’ murder.
His mom Stephanie Moore now pleading with the public to help police generate new leads.
“It’s not fair to his kids to grow up without their father,” said Moore, “He’s got three kids young kids that don’t get to be raised by him.”
“He don’t get to see them grown,” said Moore.
On the early morning of December 14th, Hagans was found lying dead outside his Salisbury home on Dale Lane with gunshot wounds.
Police believe several people were involved in the shooting and escaped together that morning in a white vehicle.
From what they tell 47ABC identifying that vehicle may be the key in solving this murder.
“If anybody in that area has seen anything or has camera footage or anything that may help us identify that vehicle or people in that area during that time frame,” said Cpl. Jordan Banks at the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.
What makes this case even more puzzling we’re told is that Stephanie says her son had no enemies, which has left law enforcement struggling to find a motive.
“So, we have no idea why they did it, who it was or anything, but everybody is just as shocked as I am that this happened,” said Moore.
But unless people come forward police say those questions will remain unanswered with Moore and the three grandkids her son left behind still looking for justice.
“I’m asking the public to please assist us and bringing closure to Stefon’s family. They deserve that and there’s somebody out there who certainly knows what happened,” said Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis.
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about this investigation to come forward and help bring closure to Hagans’ family.
Police say they are offering a reward to anyone who can help them catch whoever is responsible for Stefon Hagans’ death.
Police say callers can remain anonymous.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office at 410-548-4891.
