Nicki Minaj Passes Aretha Franklin to Become the Woman with the Most Billboard Hot 100 Entries

NICKI MINAJ has now had 76 songs crack the Billboard Hot 100, which is more than any other woman in HISTORY.

She passed ARETHA FRANKLIN, who previously had the record with 73.

Not to take anything away from Nicki, but these are slightly different times for the music industry, with streaming and digital downloads . . . along with the prevalence of being "featured" on a track, which DOES count toward your total.

Only 24 of Nicki's entries were as the lead artist.  67 of Aretha's were solo, and another six were duets.  She wasn't credited as 'featured' on any of them.

And it took Aretha 37 years to do it . . . from 1961 to her last in 1998.  It took Nicki less than eight years, from 2009 up to now.

To Nicki's credit, she celebrated the achievement by posting a video of herself TWERKING.

Aretha never treated us to anything like that.
