Police: Boy, 2, hit by car, killed

Delaware State Police say a 2-year-old boy from Dover was hit by a car and killed while standing in a road in the Milford area . Police say the boy, who was visiting family at a home on Slaughter Beach Road and was standing in the westbound lane wearing dark clothes around 8 p.m. Wednesday. A passing motorist stopped in the eastbound travel lane, trying to make contact with the child, but police say a driver in westbound lane didn’t see the boy and hit him. The boy was taken to an area hospital and was then pronounced dead on the way to Nemours Children’s Hospital.
