Delaware State Police say a Wilmington man is charged with drunken driving and weapons offenses after an alleged road rage incident early Friday in Lewes. Police say troopers responded to a Home Depot parking lot after a man called 911 to report that an aggressive driver followed him into the parking lot, where he threw a lock at the man’s vehicle and screamed at him. Troopers made contact with John Gillen and detected a strong odor of alcohol. When Gillen, who is prohibited from owning a deadly weapon, was arrested troopers found a shank and hatchet in his car. Gillen is charged with weapons offenses and third offense driving under the influence. He’s being held on $65,000 cash bond.
