A Salisbury man is being held after an incident of Domestic Violence. Friday morning February 3, 2017 the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office received

a 911 call from a woman who had escaped from a home in the 500 block of Purnell St.
The woman ran to a neighbor's house yelling for help. Witnesses reported seeing Joseph Ellis dragging the bloodied and beaten woman back to the house against her will.
When deputies arrived they heard the woman yelling from inside the home.
Ellis eventually released the female woman, who told deputies that she was beaten and held against her will for over four hours. He had barricaded himself inside the home and ignored orders to surrender. Deputies forced entry and saw Ellis hanging by the neck, from a cord. Deputies immediately released him and administered first-aid.
Both were taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment. Saturday, February 4, 2017 Ellis was released from PRMC, arrested and was ordered held without bond at the Detention Center. Charges include: Kidnapping, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault (2 counts), False Imprisonment, Reckless Endangerment (2 counts), Possession of a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Injure.
